I got up and got ready early this morning. I was planning on a day of shopping – hitting the mall, some thrift stores, and craft supply places. Then I looked outside and saw this:
Woah! So I didn’t go anywhere. But I asked Daniel to take some pictures anyway, since I was already dressed for my day.
This morning, while I was getting ready, I kept thinking about my mom in the late 70’s/early 80’s. I envision her in something like these high-waisted, wide-leg jeans (the same ones from yesterday) and this velvet blazer. I’ve had this blazer since high school (thrift store find!) and I haven’t worn it in forever. It’s a bit tight on me now, but not too bad.
Since I couldn’t go shopping, I decided to remix some of my jewelry!
What a lovely mess! I ended up taking apart several of my charm necklaces and trying them out in new combinations. I’m still kind of fiddling with them, though, and there’s nothing I’m pleased enough with (yet!) to post here. I will show you the decorating I’ve been doing in the dining room, though.
It all started with this plate:
TJ Maxx just happens to have lots of lovely plates for two and three dollars apiece. I decided then and there that I needed a plate display on my wall.
I really love how this turned out. I’m so happy to have an actual dining room to decorate, but it’s still a work in progress.
Have a happy Saturday night!
